STRETCHES of the M62 motorway will be closed this week for maintenance work to take place.
The first closure will take place tonight from 8pm until 6am tomorrow, on the westbound carriageway between Junction 28 for Tingley and Junction 27 for Gildersome, to allow gantry painting work to take place.
The second closure is also on the westbound side, from Junction 27 to Junction 26 for Chain Bar, for two nights from Wednesday, July 24, again for gantry painting work to take place.
The third closure is taking place from 8pm on Friday, July 26, until 6am on Saturday, on the eastbound carriageway from Junction 26 to Junction 27, and will also be for gantry painting work to take place.
The carriageways will be fully closed for the works to take place, and clearly signed diversion routes will be in place for motorists to follow during the closures.
Highways England said it plans its roadworks to cause as little disruption to motorists as possible, and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
