A BINGLEY group which makes and gives away free morsbag shopping bags from recycled and reused fabrics has given away their 500th bag.
The group, linked to the Plastic Free Bingley action group, now supplies 22 shops and outlets around Bingley where the morsbag-making workshop or 'pod' is based.
The aim is to encourage people to reduce their use of plastic bags and encourage recycling and reusing by handing out the bags.
The latest two recipients of the hand-made bags are Georgie Batty and her daughter Bea Paxford, who said their were 'delighted' with their gifts.
Julie Ramadan, for the Bingley group, said: "We are really pleased with all the local support and encouragement we have received from local people and businesses, many giving us supplies of material and thread to use."
