POLICE investigating a robbery in Bradford in which a significant amount of cash was taken by armed suspects are appealing for information.
It happened at around 7.30am on Sunday, July 7, after an Aston Martin car parked outside the Lord Clyde Inn in Thornton Road, was struck by a silver 4x4 vehicle.
Two or three suspects in balaclavas then smashed the windows of the Aston Martin with hammers and axes and made demands for cash from the occupant.
A large quantity of cash was handed over and the suspects made off in a blue vehicle, believed to be similar to a Ford Ka.
Enquiries suggest this travelled away from the city centre towards Girlington.
Bradford District CID is keen to hear from any witnesses or who may have seen the vehicles mentioned.
Detective Inspector Mark Taylor said: “The victims were carrying a large amount of cash for legitimate business purposes.
“Although no one was injured this was very frightening for them, as the suspects were thought to be armed with hammers and axes.”
Anyone who can assist this investigation is asked to contact Bradford District CID on 101, quoting crime reference 13190343212, or report online at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat.
Information can also be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
