Wibsey Park is hosting a packed programme of free activities this summer.

The summer programme is being run in partnership with the Friends of Wibsey Park and Bradford Council and aims to get as many people using the park as possible over the six week holidays.

The activities are being provided by organisations who use the park all year including the Community Gardens, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Bradford Model Engineering Society, Walking for Health and Wibsey Warriors Rugby Club, plus sessions from Bradford Park Avenue, Bradford Bikery and Yorkshire Cricket Foundation.

What is going on?

  • Gardening arts and crafts at the Community Garden on July 22, then every Monday and Thursday. Booking essential is on 07909 224609.
  • Football and multisports on Tuesday afternoons with Bradford Park Avenue
  • A special cycling event on Wednesday, July 24 from 1.30pm with Bradford Bikery, offering cycling skills training, bikes to borrow and a free bike health check.
  • Wildlife Trust’s Bradford Urban Discovery project is running nature play on Thursdays August 8, 22 and 29.
  • Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s Pop Up Cricket will take place from 2 to 3 pm every Wednesday afternoon from July 31 to August 21.
  • Wibsey Warriors run their Warritots for two to five year olds and girls and boys teams on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
  • Sunday morning model boating on the park lake from 10.30 am.
  • Weekly health walks take place at 11am on Mondays, meeting at the Beacon Road entrance.
