A 10-MILE walk by Saltaire-based insurance brokers Packetts has raised over £1,750 for St John Ambulance.

Twenty-five walkers - staff, friends and family - undertook the ‘Ilkley Moor with hat’ route from Ilkley Station, climbing past White Wells, Ilkley Crag and onto Dick Hudson’s, Baildon Glen, finishing in Saltaire.

Marshall Sugden, managing director of Packetts, said: “We aim to raise £10,000 which will help train 100 new advanced first aiders. St John have been a client for over 40 years so it seemed appropriate that we mark Packetts’ centenary in this way.”

The fundraising is building up to the company’s centenary in 2020. Jessica Robinson of St John Ambulance said: “We’re delighted with the support that Packetts have shown.”
