THE funeral of Glasgow schoolgirl Chelsea Bruce will take place in Springburn next week.

The life of the popular 16-year-old will be celebrated in Springburn Parish Church on Monday.

In a statement, the church confirmed: "Springburn Parish Church will be conducting the funeral service for Chelsea Bruce.

"A wonderful young woman with a good life ahead of her who was taken far too soon at 16.

"The service will be on Monday, July 22 at 12pm in the Parish Church."

We previously reported that tragic Chelsea died and two other teenagers were treated in hospital after a house party in Springburn. It is believed that they took ecstasy. The teenage boys, aged 16 and 18, were later released from the hospital.

In a statement, Chelsea's family described her as their "wee angel".

Her school Springburn Academy also paid tribute this week. 

In a statement, the school said: "Chelsea was a lovely, bright and compassionate young woman who had a promising future. Chelsea will be remembered for her kindness by many."
