A VACANT former chaplaincy building in Bradford can be converted into a solicitors' office after new plans were approved.

Located just off Great Horton Road, near the University of Bradford, 2 Ashgrove was the former Bradford SoulSpace and chaplaincy offices, and had living space on its upper floors, but is currently empty.

Over a century old, the building lies within the Little Horton Lane Conservation Area.

The application to bring the building back to use was submitted by Rizwan Shah in May, and has now been approved by Bradford Council.

The Council's Design and Conservation Officer Gerrard Shaw said: "The application shows that the proposed change-of-use involves no external changes to the property.

"As such, the proposal would preserve the character and appearance of Little Horton Lane Conservation Area."
