To celebrate its tenth anniversary Bradford Festival organisers had gone beach barmy in 1996. Windsor Baths had been turned into a “health spa” and other landmarks had been given similar treatment transforming the city into Bradford-by-the-Sea.
Over in Lister Park, more than 140,000 people from all over the country had also converged to sample the delights of the festival’s multi-cultural Mela.
