CHAMPIONS League winners Liverpool know that there is far more than friendly pride at stake when they head to Valley Parade on Sunday, and they got together to pay tribute to Stephen Darby ahead of the clash.

The former Bradford City and Liverpool full back was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last September, which saw him have to announce his immediate retirement from football at the age of just 29.

He has responded with incredible bravery to the devastating news, and has set up the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation alongside close friend Chris Rimmer.

Sunday's friendly against the Reds will be helping to raise money for "Distance for Darbs" a charity event which will see people walk 65 miles from Valley Parade to Anfield at the end of this month to raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

That event, and the charity itself, is now sure to get some excellent publicity after James Milner's tweet.

The midfielder urges the fans to get behind Darby and his cause on Sunday afternoon, before members of the squad, and manager Jurgen Klopp, can be seen chanting "Stephen Darby Baby" and waving Liverpool scarves.
