A grandmother from Shipley is calling on the biking community to help make her grandson's prom night "a bit more special".

Maria Glover Crump and her husband originally planned on taking Callam and his girlfriend Aimee on their own bikes but felt they needed something even more "different".

The grandparents have now planned a mass motorbike escort, riding in with Queen anthem 'We will Rock You'.

Maria said: "We used to take him to BSB (British Superbikes) every year and any other bike related thing.

"He used to love it. I've photos of him in his bike jacket and sat on bikes too.

"In total there should be around about 20 bikes. They're coming from all over. It's brilliant - the biking community doing what the biking community do."

Callum and his girlfriend first met in primary school and have been seeing each other for the last two and a half years.

Callum will be staying on to study computer science while Aimee is going to college for childcare studies.

Maria said: "They're a lovely little couple. It's so sweet to watch them grow together.

"He's going to be blown away by it all."

Maria, who rides with bike club Northern Cross MCC, is asking local clubs and riders to escort the couple from Baildon Green to Hollins Hall in Esholt tonight, July 12.
Riders must meet for 6pm at 4 Knoll Terrace in Baildon, BD17 7PJ - with the escort starting at 18.30.
