A CELEBRATION of 50 years since the moon landing is part of a exhibition of space and astronomy by Shipley amateur space researcher Gordon Holmes.

The exhibition is running in Shipley library, initially until at least July 20, but may extend throughout August to tie in with another space exhibition being held at the library.

Mr Holmes, as well as interested in space and physics, is also an avid hunter of the Loch Ness Monster and has made several trips to Loch Ness to take hydrophonic readings and images.

His exhibition will include some of this work, but will most ly focus on space and space travel.

He is even including some newspaper cuttings taken at the time.

The display will include photographs, posters and equipment used in investigating such phenomena of space infiniteness and including Sir Fred Hoyle’s 40-year-old scientific papers, radio observations of Shoemaker Levy 9 comet, his own theories pre-Big Bang and satellite tracking. Many items have not been seen in public before.
