POLICE continued their investigation at Denholme Business Centre today, as mystery surrounds the reason they are at the site.

Detectives and forensics officers have been at the site since Tuesday evening searching and examining the business site in Halifax Road.

The work is part of the murder investigation into the death of 20-year-old Mohammed Feazan Ayaz, whose body was found naked and with multiple injuries lying in the street in Saffron Drive, Allerton, in the early hours of Monday.

The centre, which covers an area of 215,400 sq ft with around 200,000 sq ft of floor space, and according to Companies House is owned by Iqbal Sekhon, a director of the Little Germany-based Sekhon Group.

A spokesperson for the business said the company is “as much in the dark as everyone else” about the investigation, and had been given no information by police.

Manjit Nanglu, who runs Bronte Tyres, which is based in a unit at Denholme Business Centre, said he is also in the dark regarding the investigation.

On Wednesday evening, forensics officers entered his unit to carry out enquiries.

He said: “I have no idea what is going on at all.

“I’m just letting the police do what they need to do and not be a hindrance to them.

“We are still closed, I’m still waiting for them to confirm I can have access to the place.

“It’s a serious matter so the best thing to do is just to wait. I have had no answer back to any of the questions I have asked police about it.”

Police have given no update on the status of the investigation or if there had been any further arrests.

A 34-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, but he was released on Wednesday with no further action to be taken.

The family of Feazan Ayaz released a heartfelt appeal for information about the young man’s death, pleading for people to come forward.

The statement said: “The family would like justice for Feazan and ask anyone with information to come forward and speak to the police.

“He was a father figure, a lovely son and brother.”

Councillor Michael Ellis (Bingley Rural, Conservative) said earlier today he had no further information from police, but he expects the operation in Denholme to continue for a few more days.

He said on Wednesday he was relieved to hear from police there was no immediate danger to the public, but said it was concerning there was another murder investigation centring on Denholme, just over 18 months on from the murder of Tyron Charles in the village.

The police’s murder investigation is ongoing, and they are continuing to appeal for information and for witnesses to come forward.
