A PRIMARY school which had been told it needed to improve has been rated Good by Ofsted following a recent inspection.
Drighlington Primary School, in Moorland Road, was praised for its teaching, new leadership team and improving results.
In the report, Ofsted said: The dedicated headteacher, ably assisted by the deputy and assistant heads, has taken effective action to secure the improvements needed previous inspection report.
"She has been relentless in tackling underperformance and weaker teaching in the school.
"The progress of pupils is steadily improving towards the national average. A higher proportion of pupils now achieve the high or greater depth standards in their work.
"Pupils enjoy their learning and engage fully in their lessons. Their attitudes to learning are very good.
"The quality of teaching is now good overall. It is particularly strong in the upper part of the school.

To become Outstanding, Drighlington was told to further improve teaching in all classes, with more attention on presentation, improve disadvantaged pupils' progress, and raise senior staff's skills even higher.
