CHILDREN from Settle Primary School took part in a special community service at the town's parish church to mark Refugee Week.
The years five and six children have created 'welcome' cards for the refugee family who are due to arrive in the town later this year thanks to the efforts of the ReSETTLEment group.
Jan Michael, lay worship leader, brought together many people from the town's community for Sunday's service, and cards and prayers were displayed in the church during Refugee Week.
On Saturday (June 29), at 7.30pm, the church will be the setting for Settle Orchestra's summer concert. Tickets are £12 and include refreshments for a summer's evening.
Rev Tony Willmont will be leading the service of 'Shared' Holy Communion on Sunday at 10am, when the church looks forward to welcoming Rev Tony, his wife and friends from St Alkelda's, Giggleswick and Holy Trinity, Rathmell.
