Bradford Science Festival runs from Thursday, July 18, until Sunday, July 21, in Bradford City Centre. The event focuses on the history of space travel during this celebration of science and technology in a family-friendly fun festival hosted by the National Science and Media Museum and taking place in City Park, The Broadway and the museum. Bradford Bears Wheelchair Basketball Team are hosting a family fun day on Saturday, August 10, at the University of Bradford Union of Students, Richmond Road, Bradford. There will be plenty of family fun with face painting, bouncy castles, games, tombola, water slide and food. Free parking will also be available. Bradford Family Film Festival gets underway in Bradford city centre from Sunday, August 11, until Saturday, August 31. Celebrating a decade of Bradford UNESCO City of Film, the event includes screenings, events and activities. The packed programme includes films on the Big Screen in City Park and The Light Cinema; documentaries at the IMAX, a pop up cinema at Oastler Market and screenings at venues around the district including a BollywoodVisit bradford-city-of-film.com. summer season at Greenmoor Community Cinema.

Car fans old and young can also look forward to the Bradford Classic, with dozens of classic cars will be on show in City Park on Saturday, August 17.

Picturehouse at the National Science and Media Museum is hosting ‘Toddler Time’ cinema screenings exclusively for preschool children and their parents or carers. Peter Rabbit fans can see a wonderful exhibition running at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Lister Park, Bradford. Peter Rabbit: Mischief And Mayhem features rarely seen original illustrations and early manuscripts by Beatrix Potter from ‘The Tale of Peter Rabbit’ which has been developed in partnership with Penguin Ventures and The River and Rowing Museum. The exhibition has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The exhibition runs until Sunday, September 8.

Wensleydale Creamery are inviting families to have a ‘Grate’ time at the Hawes home of the much-loved crumbly cheese. A brand new demonstration room has been launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creamery’s visitor centre giving visitors the opportunity to experience cheese and butter making demonstrations along with cookery demonstrations.
