A TEENAGE singing sensation from Penrhyn Bay has secured a place on will.i.am’s team on The Voice Kids UK competition.
The Mack Man, aka 13 year-old Mackenzie Richards wowed the former Black Eyed Peas man with his performance of Bruno Mars’ ‘Perm’ during week three of the show.
As the Blind Auditions continued, judges Will, Jessie J and McFly’s Danny Jones were seeking five more acts each to add to their teams, whilst Pixie Lott had just four spots left to fill.
As a result, Mackenzie was chosen by Will after a fiery rendition.
His alter ego - The Mack Man - is said to be something of a school heart-throb who says he likes to write songs about girls, play drums and dance.
At school, he won the award for ‘most likely to be famous’ and at the weekend, he began his journey to achieving just that.
His energetic performance got a turn from will.i.am and he became the fifth kid to join Team Will
in this year’s competition.
When Will heard of all The Mack Man’s hobbies he said, “well gosh look how lucky I got, I’ve got The Mack Man who’s a Jack of all trades!”
Mackenzie’s stage name is said to have been inspired by the likes of Freddie Mercury and his now mentor, will.i.am.
