REFUSED plans to demolish a bungalow in Starkey Lane, Farnhill, and replace it with a terrace of three new homes will be reviewed by the Planning Inspectorate.

In March, a decision to refuse the plans by Craven councillors on the grounds of overdevelopment and impact on neighbouring properties, against officer recommendation, was met with a round of applause from residents opposed to the development who attended the planning committee meeting.

The meeting heard that applicant, Elliott Exley intended to demolish the existing bungalow, Fairmount, and replace it with three new homes, to be lived in by him, his father, and his father’s business partner. Mr Exley has now appealed to the Planning Inspectorate which will either allow the appeal, giving planning permission, or uphold the council's decision.
