PLANS to build houses on a field on the outskirts of Keighley are likely to be approved tomorrow.
An application for six semi detached houses off Braithwaite Road in Keighley was submitted by the Executors of J Baxendall (Deceased).
A similar plan for eight homes on the site was refused last year.
The latest application has attracted several objections, include some from neighbours who are critical of plans to build on a field.
But when the plans go before Bradford Council’s Keighley and Shipley Area Planning Panel tomorrow morning, members will be advised to approved the application.
The report says that although neighbouring fields are Green Belt, the actual site is not.
It adds: “The site is not, itself, protected by any other planning, nature conservation or heritage designations. Therefore objections on grounds that it is a green field could not be sustained in the event of a planning appeal given the known shortfall of housing land across the Bradford Metropolitan District.”
The report says the reduction in homes compared to the previous application is enough to overcome the prior reasons for refusal.
The committee meets in Keighley Town Hall at 10am.
