A MAN snared by a so-called ‘paedophile hunting’ group has had his guilty pleas vacated (withdrawn) after the results of a psychological report.
Charles Lunt, 26, of Bradford Road, Shipley, had pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to communicate sexually with a child, as well as two counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity at a hearing in April. He also pleaded guilty to a count of attempting to meet a girl under 16 following sexual grooming.
Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday that a report had found the defendant had a “mental age of 12” and a low IQ, raising a “very real question mark over his fitness to plead”.
Judge Colin Burn ordered the case be adjourned for a full psychiatric report, releasing Lunt on bail to a supported housing address until a hearing on August 8.
