THE driver of a truck abandoned his vehicle after being pulled over by police.

Officers from Operation Steerside pulled over the vehicle in Apperley Bridge early this morning on suspicion it had no MOT.

After the vehicle pas parked up the driver jumped out of the car and fled the scene.

However, his escape may have proved futile. A police spokesman said: "Fortunately we know who he is so he'll be getting a door knock once he finds his way back home."

It was one of a series of vehicle seizures made by officers in the past seven days, with cars taken from their drivers in Bolton, Great Horton and Ravenscliffe.
