A MAN was rescued from a crane in the early hours of the morning following a crash.

Emergency services were called to the M1 sliproad of the eastbound carriageway of the M62 at around 3.15am, where there had been a crash involving a car and a crane.

A man, thought to be in his fifties, was trapped in the cab of the crane.

He was complaining of neck pain and pain down his right-hand side.

Firefighters freed the man and he was then taken to hospital.

It's not thought the other driver was injured.
