The Yorkshire accent is the most trustworthy sounding in the UK according to new research into how the way we speak affects other's opinions.
The study by Gala Bingo UK found Yorkshire and Scotland are joint-top for the most trusted accents.
The Yorkshire accent came out as the third most intelligent-sounding, tied with Welsh and West Country accents.
The organisation suggests the popularity of Yorkshire-born sporting legends like Geoffrey Boycott, or TV characters like Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor Who helped the accent's popularity.
The Yorkshire intonation also came out as joint fifth overall favourite accent, joint with the West Country accent.
Karina Adrian, head of brand marketing at Gala Bingo, said: “It’s really interesting to see just what we think about the way we speak."
