THE world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band - which featured in hit film Brassed Off - will perform at St George’s Hall on Saturday.
Established in 1917, during the First World War, the band's performances include the FIFA World Cup, BAFTA Awards, BBC Proms, Eurovision and London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony. It has two gold discs and a BAFTA nomination for its contributions to Brassed Off.
A spokesman said: “The Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Abbey, Sydney Opera House and more have all played host to Grimethorpe.
"With tours to Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Europe, the band’s performance reputation remains unsurpassed."
The band is famed for performing favourite classics in spectacular style.
