A NEW sign has been installed at Low Moor station in south Bradford to draw more attention to it.

The Friends of Low Moor Station said that despite its success since in opened in April 2017, they noticed that not enough people knew about Low Moor station.

A spokesman said: "We thought that the current ‘running in’ board was not big enough and we wanted something bigger.

"With the financial support from Solenis (previously known as BASF, Ciba, Colloids) and with the backing of the Northern Station Team we went big."

The Friends have been working hard to ensure the station is a success in partnership with other local groups, holding events and meeting to promote the benefits the station brings to the local community.

In particular they have promoted the opportunities that better access to employment throughout the Leeds City Region brings to people, particularly young people, in south Bradford and North Kirklees. And they have been highlighting the potential of the station with more trains and a direct service to Manchester.

The group says the station has been an outstanding success, seeing exceptional growth in passenger number in its first two years with an hourly service to Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and Leeds on Northern Rail and three trains a day to London thanks to Grand Central.
