IT must be the ultimate flight simulator - the entire upper deck of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet.

And now it can be yours if you are prepared to meet the asking price.

A flight enthusiast from Sunderland has listed the cockpit on eBay with a starting price of £15,000.

The collector, from Sunderland, says: "This is the whole upper deck section of a B747-100 - N4712U. Boeing line number 67 and MSN-19757, it has lots of history - simply google the registration."

The 49-year-old cockpit was originally delivered to United Airlines in 1970 and named "The Original Eight" after the first ever eight flight attendants who served aboard a United plane back in the 1930s.

The seller says it ended its service with Polar Air Cargo at Prestwick, Scotland in 2002.

He adds: "It has been stored and used as a trainer since then and was finally rescued, sectioned and prepared for road transport in September 2017. The cockpit and Engineers panel are partially complete.

"It can be kept as one for history or used for a great simulator project or possibly a summer house, office, glamping pod, cafe/restaurant etc."

Anyone worried about how to get the Boeing home can be reassured that the cockpit is "easy to transport" and the seller adds "a price can be given separately if required".

So far, however, no one has made a bid or met the asking price of £15,000.
