A fire investigation has begun at the scene of a flat fire which took place just after 10am this morning. 

Fire services and police were called out at 9.54am to Otley Road, Undercliffe, Bradford where shattered glass can be seen on the floor. 

A man, believed to be aged between 40 and 50, received medical attention but he is not believed to be seriously injured.

One witness said they saw the man leave the building with clothes wrapped around his arms.

One onlooker said: "He looked bewildered."

Neighbours said the upstairs flat had recently been renovated in the last three months although the shop was not in use. 

The two fire engines that attended were from Bradford and Shipley stations.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We rescued a man from a first floor flat then we left the scene by 11.52am."
