A TEAM of fundraising cyclists is hoping to bump the total it manages to raise up to £2,000.
The team, from the (BIHR) tackled a gruelling two-day, 130-mile long ride around the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway last month.
Matthew Prescott, from the team said it had been an "epic" experience and thanked all those who donated.
The challenge was to raise money for events to promote cycling in the district, particularly among children. One is to be held on Sunday, June 23, at Haworth Road Recreation Ground and the other on Saturday, July 13, at Dixons Manningham Primary School.
The events will be held in conjunction with the 10 Bradford SHINE primary schools, the Bradford Bikery community project and the East Bradford Cycling Club.
The schools have strong links to the BIHR through the ‘Born in Bradford’ programme.
The money raised will be used towards the events - one plan is to distribute refurbished bikes to children who do not have one and also provide bike riding and maintenance skills.
