CITY are lining up a star-studded friendly against European champions Liverpool.

A Valley Parade visit from Jurgen Klopp’s newly-crowned Champions League winners has been pencilled in for Sunday, July 14.

There has been no official confirmation as yet of the game, which is thought to be in aid of raising money to fight motor neurone disease through the two clubs’ links with Stephen Darby.

City last faced Liverpool in May 2001 when Michael Owen and Gary McAllister scored in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

Twelve months earlier, David Wetherall’s header ensured last-day survival in the Premiership.

Gary Bowyer’s Bantams have announced six pre-season friendlies with Wigan and Rochdale providing the league opposition.
