STAFF from a Marks & Spencer store in the district will be lending Bradford Hospitals’ Charity a helping hand next week.

The members of staff from the M&S Ilkley store will be volunteering at Bradford Royal Infirmary on Wednesday, June 5, as part of Volunteers Week.

They will visit the radiology department and see work which has already begun to make scanning services more child friendly through the charity’s Rays a Smile appeal.

M&S volunteers will hold a bucket collection in the hospital’s main atrium, before heading to the children’s unit to do arts and crafts with young patients to life their spirits.

Hayley Collis, head of fundraising at Bradford Hospitals’ Charity, said: “This is a lovely opportunity for us to showcase the work we have already done to improve the experience of young patients in hospital, and also publicise the opportunities we have with our charity for volunteering.

“We have fantastic volunteer roles available with Bradford Hospitals’ Charity, which involve everything from supporting fundraising events to admin support.

“We are always on the lookout for people with good organisational and admin skills too, as we are a rapidly growing charity.”
