A CONTAINER full of aid has been sent to Yemen after taking just a week to fill during Ramadan.

The container was organised by Abdul Satar, of Bradford's The Office Furniture Company, through the charity Unite4Humanity.

Mr Satar is also joint founder of Bradford Community Kitchen which supplies hot meals to the homeless and vulnerable each Sunday from the Millside Centre.

He said: "We managed to fill the container within seven days of the container arriving.

The container has now left for Yemen and will arrive in approximately five to six weeks. It has everything from flour, rice, tinned food, cooking oil, medicines, pasta and sugar to crutches, wheelchairs and various items.

"Imran Hussain MP came to the container to support our appeal.

"I want to thank everyone who donated to us to help get this aid to Yemen where it is needed."

Mr Satar is also selling chocolate fudge cakes during Ramadan to raise money for the community kitchen.

Regal Food Products PLC are again this year donating Regal mango juice with every cake sold.

The group has organised pick-up points for people to collect the cakes they order. These will be at Pakistan Catering, in Beckside Road, the Sweet Centre, in Lumb Lane and Shalamar, Manchester Road.
