A NEW LGBTQ+ exhibition has opened at the Bradford Peace Museum.

Peace OUT aims to share stories of those who have peacefully campaigned for LGBTQ+ rights and explores the impact people in that community have had on peacemaking.

It covers a range of topics, from Pride in Bradford to the fight for equality.

The museum has teamed up with a range of partners, including West Yorkshire Queer Stories, The Brick Box, Kala Sangam and Equality Rainbow Project to create an exhibition to reflect local stories of peacemaking.

Peace OUT is part of the organisation’s long term vision to diversify its collection and contextualise the issues peacemakers are campaigning for today.

Many of the exhibits on display are new acquisitions for the museum.

The Peace Museum, Piece Hall Yard, is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10am - 4pm.

To coincide with Bradford Pride on June 1 people are also being invited to visit the museum for a special Saturday opening between 11am and 3pm.

There will be free refreshments and activities, with an opportunity to make pride badges and peaceful placards for the day. Bradford Pride will begin in City Park at 12pm and there will be live acts and entertainment throughout the day.
