TWO young dancers from the Bradford district are performing in Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet at the Alhambra this week.

Following UK-wide auditions, Bourne’s company New Adventures selected six 16-19 year old dancers currently in training to perform alongside the professional cast on the tour. The young dancers performing at the Alhambra include Yvette Levine from Bingley and Hollie Smith from Oakworth.

REVIEW - Unique spin on classic tale wows crowds as Matthew Bourne's Romeo and Juliet comes to Alhambra

The New Adventures production, at the Alhambra until Saturday, is a contemporary re-imagining of Shakespeare’s love story, bursting with youth, vitality and Bourne’s trademark storytelling.

Directed and choreographed by Bourne, the show brings Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers into the 21st century. Confined by a society that seeks to divide, they must follow their hearts as they risk everything to be together.
