WEST Yorkshire Police have said that a suspected firearms discharge on Apperley Road in Idle last night, which saw a window smashed, appears not to have involved an air rifle as first thought.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the force said police were called by the homeowner at 8:56pm, who said her neighbour had CCTV footage.

Police spoke to the neighbour, who after checking the footage again, said it didn't appear to be an air rifle, but an object thrown at the window by two suspects instead.

It has been therefore been logged by police as a criminal damage incident.
