PLANS for a new "state of the art" dental surgery in Shipley have been given the go ahead.
Mydentist submitted plans for Crowgill House, Rosse Street, which was once home to the Japanese Yo Yo Bar & Restaurant.
Planning documents submitted with the application said the the project would "provide a highly visible modern state of the art dental practice in a central sustainable location".
In approving the application, the Council said: "This proposal will bring a vacant property back into a commercial use, which will provide wider benefits for the vitality of the Shipley town centre.
"The proposal would cause loss of a previous restaurant use which offered some vibrancy to Rosse Street and the evening economy.
"However, the dental practice would also offer a degree of presence and activity during the day.
"It would therefore not diminish the vitality of this particular edge of centre street and the new facilities will offer local families an opportunity to access dental services at an accessible location in the centre of Shipley."
