"CONFUSING" roadworks are causing chaos for Bradford drivers in Lidget Green this afternoon, with a main junction out of action.

A Telegraph & Argus reader said the problems were affecting Beckside Road, Cemetery Road, Clayton Road and Legrams Lane.

He said: "There's a massive pile of traffic and a lot of people are confused because they weren't aware of them.

"Clayton Road is closed, with cars being diverted on to Spencer Road, and Legrams Lane is closed from Horton Grange Road onwards.

"Beckside Road and Cemetery Road both have temporary traffic lights in place.

He added: "Traffic on Beckside Road goes all the way back to Southfield Lane.

"Cemetery Road traffic goes back to Farmers Boy. Legrams Lane junction with Horton Grange Road is at a standstill. Clayton Road is standing still going back to Pasture Lane."

In a statement on Twitter, Metro said: Junction of Clayton Road & Legrams Lane in Bradford is closed 0530-1900 for resurfacing works.

@FirstWestYorks 636 & 637 diverted via Beckside Road and Spencer Road.

On social media, some people said that drivers should have been aware of the roadworks, as signs had been in place for a few weeks.
