A MAN was rescued from a flat fire off Briggate in Shipley at around 3:30 this morning, the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed.
Three engines attended from Bradford, Shipley and Bingley and firefighters helped out a man on the third floor, who was suffering from breathing in smoke.
The casualty was handed over to the ambulance service who transported him to hospital.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with one hose reel and two breathing apparatus used to put it out.
Both the police and ambulance service attended.
A spokesperson for Shipley Fire Station said that he believed cooking was involved. He added that firefighters spent approximately an hour at the scene.
