FIRE crews from two Bradford stations were scrambled to a house in Great Horton earlier today after a fire broke out in the first floor of a house.

Two fire engines from Bradford fire station and one from Fairweather Green were called to the blaze in St Margaret’s Road, Great Horton, to reports of a house fire at just before 3pm.

Upon arrival crews found a fire in the first floor of the house, with the building 50 per cent involved in the fire.

Three hose reels and six breathing apparatus had to be used to tackle the fire, and then positive pressure ventilation fans were used to clear smoke from the property.

Luckily there were no people in the property at the time so there were no injuries.

A West Yorkshire Fire Investigation officer was also called to determine a cause for the fire.
