FANS of the late Doris Day will be able to celebrate her life and legendary career at an upcoming film festival.

The Calamity Jane actress, 97, died at her home in Carmel Valley, California, it was confirmed today.

The Hinterlands Film Festival in Skipton includes a sing-a-long screening of the film on Saturday, May 18, from 10am at the town's Plaza Cinema.

It was already scheduled as part of the festival, but will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the life and career of the legendary Hollywood star.

The inaugural festival, which will showcase films set in and about the countryside, runs from May 16 to 19 across different in venues in Skipton.
