FLOWERS have been left at the scene of a fatal crash which claimed the life of a young Bradford man on Friday night.

Trafford Quantrill-Stott, 21, died from his injuries after being involved in a motorbike crash in Clayton Road, Lidget Green, at 7.11pm on Friday.

The KTM Duke bike he had been riding hit a traffic island before he was thrown from the vehicle, which was travelling towards Clayton village.

A number of floral tributes have been left the young man, who in 2015 won an award from his education provider for his hard work and dedication.

Many tributes and messages of condolence to Mr Quantrill-Stott have also been posted on social media.

A balloon release is also taking place at 7pm on Monday, May 13, in Spencer Road, with family and friends releasing blue and silver balloons in his memory.

Jordan Serrant posted: "Only with you last week pal, God bless your soul."

Chelsea Fletcher said: "RIP Trafford lad gone too soon. Such a lovely lad, thoughts with the family. Fly high beautiful."

Maya Fieldhouse added: "Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

"Got the honor of serving him a pint or two was a really down to earth lad... rest in peace."

In 2015, Mr Quantrill-Stott was awarded the Golden Trowel Award by training provider Aspire2Work.

He was the first winner of the award, and at the time was praised by centre co-ordinator Jamie Barrett.

He said: “Trafford won the ‘Golden Trowel’ competition due to his commitment, dedication and hard work.

"Trafford has displayed exemplary standards throughout his course in regards to attendance and time-keeping, attitude, work ethic and enthusiasm.

"He often works through his break time and always puts 100 per cent into all tasks he is assigned. He is an absolute pleasure to teach and working with students like Trafford makes my job worth while.”

Mr Quantrill-Stott thrived in the environment provided by Aspire2Work and at the time said he aspired to become a specialist in brickwork used in gardening and landscaping.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log number 1527 of Friday, May 10.
