A CAR owner whose vehicle was stolen while they were attending a doctors appointment has received a pleasant surprise this morning.

Officers from the Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team came across the stolen silver Volkswagen Golf parked up in Robert Street, off Leeds Road, close to Bradford city centre.

The car had been stolen from the car park of a GP surgery in the district.

PC Sam Brown, who found the stolen motor, said: "Bright, sunny and hot this morning, know where to look though and you might be in for a little surprise.

"Stolen motor located on Robert Street, stolen a couple of days ago from a doctors surgery."

Last year, 157 Volkswagen Golfs were stolen in the Bradford district, and it appears the model is still popular among car thieves in 2019 as well.
