POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Lidget Green last night.

The biker had been travelling towards Clayton village along Clayton Road, when the bike crashed into a traffic island.

He has been named locally as Trafford Quantrill-Stott.

It happened at 7.11pm and involved a white, orange and black KTM Duke 390CC motorbike.

A stretch of Clayton Road was cordoned off by police following the crash last night while enquiries were carried out.
