A depraved pensioner aged 77 has been jailed for 22 years today for a string of “horrendous” sexual offences committed against children as young as seven over a period of 30 years.

David Bolton, who had lived in the East Bowling area of Bradford, was told by Judge Jonathan Rose that he was likely to spend the rest of his life in prison and that "many people would think that was richly deserved" after he had caused so much "devastation."

He was cleared of one offence of rape, and all but three of the remaining convictions were by majority verdicts.
