A COUPLE of weeks ago we threw out the challenge to name all the players pictured in the Saints sevens team from August 1970 - with one in particular stumping most people.

We got a great response, although a few answers were wide of the mark on the mystery player.

Saints historian Alex Service finally confirmed the full line-up and even provided the tournament details.

From left to right on the back row from former chairman Joe Seddon, we have long-serving club legend Kel Coslett, future skipper Eric Chisnall, Billy Sheffield, Mike McNeill and Great Britain centre John Walsh.

Front row sees prolific try scoring wingman Les Jones, 1972 cup winner Ken Kelly and three times Wembley winner and future skipper and coach Billy Benyon.

Saints went on to win the trophy, beating Salford in the final.
