A BRADFORD foodbank has been awarded a grant of £19,909 from Asda to support people in the community.
Bradford North Foodbank is one of 90 food banks across the UK who received a grant from Asda’s Fight Hunger Create Change partnership between the retailer, Trussell Trust and FareShare.
As the partnership works to tackle the root causes of poverty in the UK, the new grant funding will allow food banks to provide vital services.
Shuna Hartley, Manager of Bradford North Foodbank, said: "The money has allowed us to employ a new part-time Foodbank Business Manager, the first paid post in the foodbank, and upgrade our warehouse/office venue for greater storage and efficiency."
