OVER £2,600 was raised when Nell Bank Outdoor Learning Centre hosted an Easter event.

The Good Friday egg-stravaganza included an Easter egg hunt, offering prizes for two winners, a toddler trail, refreshments and the opportunity to explore the adventure playground and water play area.

Prior to the event, 800 tickets were sold with only a limited number available on the day, and total attendance was almost 1,000. Public donations raised the sum of £2,600 – the equivalent of 200 day visits or 76 overnight stays for children facing financial challenges that would otherwise prevent them from taking part.

Dan Goodey, Head of the Nell Bank Centre, said: “It was an absolutely brilliant turn out for the Easter egg hunt, what a Good Friday it really was. From the whole team at Nell Bank, we really want to just say thank you to all who supported us on the day.

“We were able to dedicate the event to providing families with an exciting day out and to welcome parents to meet our team of experienced tutors, which their children are likely to meet during school trips."

“It was an opportunity for us to really showcase how we are taking the classroom outside – bringing learning to life through play, imagination and experience."
