IT’s not every Gary Barlow tribute act who can say he’s had a standing ovation from Gary Barlow himself.

When Bradley Johnson appeared on BBC1 show Let It Shine - Gary’s search for a boy group to be in his musical, The Band - he made it to the final as one fifth of Nightfall. Bradley was a hit on the show, with head judge Gary leaping to his feet.

Now Bradley has stepped into Gary’s shoes in Shine, a three-piece band recreating the music, the dance moves, the looks and all round magic of Take That, from the 90s to the present. The Bradford band also includes Freddie Bolt (Howard Donald) and Nigel Passey (Mark Owen). “We’ve been together three years, performing up and down the UK,” says Freddie, an actor who has been in TV dramas such as Ackley Bridge. As well as playing Haworth, he doubles up to entertain with a medley of Robbie Williams hits.

Nigel landed a recording contract in 2013 and, with his band, toured Europe. With a degree in music composition from Leeds College Of Music, he has performed in shows such as The Producers and Rock Of Ages and has been in TV’s Victoria and Gunpowder, as well as touring with Josh Groban and Russell Watson.
