A NEW project has started at a Bradford primary school to urge more children to eat a more balanced and nutritious breakfast before school.

Peel Park Primary School has received a large donation of bagels as part of the National Breakfast School Programme, which will be handed out to children and parents on mornings.

To encourage the pupils to eat their bagels, teacher Thomas Nowakowski has created an alter-ego, Bagel Man.

He said: “Bagel Man motivates and encourages the children to achieve above and beyond their vision of capability.

“He also explains how important it is to eat breakfast in the mornings.”

As a result of Bagel Man’s popularity, the number of bagels the school orders has tripled.
