CORONATION Street actor Jack P Shepherd, who trained at Idle theatre school Stage 84, is up for Best Actor at the British Soap Awards.
If Jack, who plays David Platt in Corrie, wins it will be the second time in a row he has picked up the gong. He won Best Actor last year's British Soap Awards for his character's controversial male rape storyline.
Jack, 31, from Pudsey joined Coronation Street in 200, when he was 12, as Gail Platt's third child.
At this year's British Soap Awards - broadcast live from Salford's Lowry Theatre on Saturday, June 1 - he is up against Danny Dyer (Mick Carter, EastEnders), Zack Morris (Keegan Baker in EastEnders), Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle in Emmerdale) and Gregory Finnegan (James Nightingale in Hollyoaks).
