WHILE there were a plethora of superheroes on the silver screen this weekend, with Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel and Shazam! on show, there were also real life superheroes at one Bradford cinema.

The Superhero Day, held at the Odeon cinema in Thornbury, saw a selection of comic book heroes descend on the movie theatre.

They were raising money for mental health charity Mind, and posed for photos with fans throughout the day at the cinema.

Heroes in attendance included Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Wonder Woman and Hell-Boy, along with villains Darth Vader, Harley Quinn, Stormtroopers, and more.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Zafar Ali, was also in attendance to show his support to the Spandex-clad collective.

Saahib Qureshi, who organised the event, thanked the public for their support and donations to Mind.

He said: “We had a fantastic Superhero Day.

“Thank you to everyone who kindly donated their time and resources to make this event memorable.”
