THE world-renowned choral ensemble The Sixteen conducted by Harry Christophers will perform at Bradford Cathedral on Saturday, September 14, with their programme An Immortal Legacy.

The concert forms part of the Centenary programme at the Cathedral, marking 100 years since the Parish Church of St Peter was given Cathedral status.

The concert will feature pieces such as Tallis’ Five Spirituals from A Child of Our Time and Byrd’s Laudibus in Sanctis across two acts.

The Sixteen said: “We are delighted to perform at Bradford Cathedral with a distinctly British programme spanning over 500 years of choral music."

"16th-century composers Tallis and Byrd wrote at times of religious turmoil and national upheaval, producing magnificent works of beauty and musical mastery.

“Their legacy can be traced to some of Britain’s most celebrated 20th and 21st century composers, including Britten, Tippett and James MacMillan, whose works complete this enlightening programme.”
